To watch Bernadine Coady from Peterborough on this BBC News link, you’d think she’d just come out of a rousing game of bingo, not knee surgery.  But she’s just out of surgery.  Unlike post-surgery patients who emerge out cold, then wake up groggy and incoherent, she’s quite animated and very in control of herself and her speech.  She’d had no pain medication and no sedation.
